Job Highlights
- Conduct comprehensive Life Cycle Assessments and Product Carbon Footprints for various products
- Develop robust internal processes for Life Cycle Assessments, including the establishment of calculation methodologies and the creation of documentation to ensure consistency and accuracy in assessing product sustainability
- Support of the LANXESS Product Carbon Footprint Engine – the LANXESS Tool which calculates Product Carbon Footprint for company-owned products
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with different Business units, actively supporting their sustainability strategies by providing valuable insights
- Contribute to LANXESS Critical Substance management and support in ESG activities as well as CSRD reporting
- Focus on advancing product sustainability by actively engaging in topics such as Product Portfolio Assessments, examining the environmental performance of existing products and identifying opportunities for improvement throughout their life cycles
Requirements
- Master’s degree or PhD in chemistry, business chemistry or a natural sciences with a focus on chemistry
- Solid experience in product carbon footprints, life cycle assessments (LCA), environmental product declarations and other sustainability metrics
- Analytical, structured and data-driven with strong conceptual thinking and experience with automatization of sustainability metrics e.g. automated product carbon footprint calculations
- Well-versed in the environmental standards and frameworks like ISO 14067, ISO 14044, GHG protocol, TfS PCF guidance, EF Recommendation, CSRD and others
- Strong understanding of the chemical industry as well as analytical and process-oriented thinking skills, strong problem-solving skills
- Confident written and spoken german and english skills
