Reporting directly to the Director of Commercial Operations, you will be a commercially astute leader responsible for defining, managing, and evolving our strategic approach to key partnerships across both customers and vendors.
You will ensure our organisation maximises the value of these critical relationships, drives joint growth opportunities, and delivers on our ambition to be the partner of choice in the veterinary market
You will act as a champion for both customer and vendor relationships within the organisation, fostering a culture of strategic collaboration, innovation, and long-term value creation.
About the role:
Lead the development and execution of Covetrus’ Strategic Relationship Framework across key customer and vendor partners — ensuring robust plans are in place to deepen partnerships and drive shared commercial success.
Lead the team who serve as points of contact for strategic customers and vendors, building enduring relationships that support mutual growth objectives and long-term loyalty.
Drive alignment of strategic partner objectives with Covetrus’ commercial strategy, working closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Excellence, Supply Chain, and Product teams to ensure coordinated delivery.
Oversee the design and delivery of tailored account and partner plans, setting clear objectives, performance metrics, and governance models for each strategic relationship.
Collaborate with international colleagues to advance cross-border partnership initiatives, leveraging Covetrus’ global scale to bring best practices and additional value to UK partners.
Ensure effective risk management of strategic relationships, identifying issues proactively and putting in place mitigation strategies to protect the business.
Provide inspirational leadership, coaching and mentoring to direct reports and cross-functional teams involved in delivering on strategic partnership objectives.
Hold budgetary responsibility for the Strategic Relationships function, ensuring effective investment in initiatives that drive meaningful return for Covetrus and its partners.
Challenge organisation norms, pushing teams to venture into new areas and be a force of innovation and evolution – playing an active role in the development of an innovative and experimentation culture.
About you:
Remote Working; with regular travel
You will have significant experience in leading a highly commercial sales; partnership or vendor relation function: or equivalent senior commercial position – within a sales focused organisation.
Experience and knowledge of the veterinary profession or animal health market.
Be fully adept with Microsoft Office packages.
Experience and knowledge of effective Project Management.
