Sage Ag Inc. is currently seeking hardworking, self-motivated, & detailed oriented individuals who are passionate about agriculture & machinery. Through this position, you will be working with a major agricultural machinery manufacturer in an experimental field test environment. As a Test Technician, you will be working independently and as a team with engineers, other technicians, and cooperators, supporting the testing activities of new line self-propelled sprayers. This position requires travel throughout the U.S. and may include extensive periods away from home. This is a limited term position expected to begin February 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring operation of pre-production and/or new line self-propelled sprayers
- Reporting machine issues directly to design engineers daily
- Performing frequent software updates to test vehicles and equipment
- Assisting engineers and staff to ensure a safe and productive work environment
- Rebuild and update pre-production sprayers to current designs
- Gathering critical machine information, crop condition and test data
- Effectively communicating cooperator’s needs back to engineering team
- Correctly installing new parts for evaluation
Requirements:
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 in an agricultural major; preferably AST or Ag Engineering
- Experience operating Agricultural machinery
- Mechanically inclined, electrical and hydraulics experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of precision agriculture & application equipment
- Strong technology and computer troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to travel
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License w/ clean driving record
- Out-going & Positive attitude
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a team environment & alone
- Ability to work long hours, some night operation will be necessary
- Ability to keep accurate & detailed records of work performed
Details:
Job Duration: February - September 2026 (Full-time may be available after limited term ends)
Location: Midwest region, traveling throughout the United States (Regions may include: Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan)
Compensation: Starting rate $23.00/hour (DOE), overtime and bonus available. All travel expenses paid by Sage Ag Inc.
