Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and a commitment to providing exceptional support to our veterinary staff. This role involves assisting in the daily operations of the clinic, ensuring the well-being of our patients, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Handle and restrain animals safely and effectively.
Perform routine laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic imaging, including X-rays.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including examination rooms and surgical areas.
Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team.
Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure patient safety.
Support with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing records.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred; kennel experience is a plus.
Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices.
Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures related to animal dental care.
Experience in veterinary critical care or laboratory settings is advantageous.
Ability to handle various types of animals safely, including dogs, cats, and equine species.
Skills in animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and basic pet grooming are desirable.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
