We are looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team! As a small clinic specializing in Dermatology and Internal Medicine, we are looking to add a flexible self starter to our team.

The ideal candidate must have experience in a veterinary TA role. Cross training in TA and reception is considered an asset.

Petderm offers fixed hours from Monday-Thursday and we are closed on weekends. We offer our employees benefits, paid vacation time, scrub allowance and discounted pet food and medications.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 2 years of experience as a veterinary/technician assistant (TA) required
Completion of a veterinary technician assistant or veterinary office assistant program or certificate considered an asset

About the Role

Some insight to the dermatology TA role and responsibilities:

Animal restraint for blood draws, injections, IV catheters, cytology, and appointments
Patient care and husbandry for hospitalized patients
Performing medicated baths, nail trims and phovia treatments
Assisting in all procedures and anesthesia
Assisting with allergy tests and immunotherapy
General upkeep and cleaning/restocking of clinic
Sterilizing instruments, cleaning the treatment area and medical equipment
Unpacking medication and food orders and clinic replenishment of supplies
Opening and Closing duties for the clinic
Some coverage for reception (Appointment reminders, records requests, uploading patient questionnaires, check in/out, phone calls, client walk ins and email inbox)
