This role is a highly coveted opportunity to work directly with Dr Jessica A Robertson, DACZM, one of the very few board certified specialists in Zoological Companion Animal Medicine. Dr Robertson brings an extensive academic and clinical background, including a residency at UC Davis and board certification in 2022. Her expertise spans advanced diagnostics, dental disease in small mammals, wound management, and emergency care for a wide range of exotic species.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Exotic Veterinary Technician who is confident with avian, small mammal, and reptile handling and care. This is a hands-on clinical role that provides personalized mentorship and meaningful professional growth.

What You Will Do

Support advanced exams, treatments, anesthesia, and surgical procedures for exotic companion animals
Perform diagnostic imaging, dental radiography for small mammals, sample collection, and patient monitoring
Provide client education on husbandry and medical care
Maintain exotic specific equipment and uphold specialty standards
Work closely within a modern multi doctor practice that supports learning and collaboration

Requirements

Active California RVT license
A minimum of 2-3 years exotic animal experience required
Skilled in handling avian, reptile, amphibian and small mammal patients
Strong communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills
Ability to thrive in a specialty focused environment
