Since 1995, Keepers of the Wild has been home to over 150 rescued animals—including lions, tigers, bears, monkeys, birds, and more. As a nonprofit, USDA-licensed wildlife sanctuary, our mission is simple but powerful: to give these animals a safe, loving, and forever home.

We’re offering a rare opportunity to join our team as an Animal Caretaker—a rewarding role where every day brings new challenges, learning, and unforgettable experiences. This isn’t just a job. It’s a calling.

What You’ll Do

Care for Amazing Animals: Help with feeding routines, enrichment, cleaning habitats, and supporting the health of animals ranging from primates to predators.
Share the Mission: Learn how to lead guided tours, connecting visitors to our animals’ stories and inspiring a love for conservation.
Work as a Team: Be part of a passionate group of caretakers who lift each other up, follow sanctuary standards, and uphold USDA safety and welfare guidelines.
Pitch In Everywhere: Assist with habitat upkeep, grounds care, and all the behind-the-scenes magic that keeps the sanctuary running smoothly.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

A deep respect for animals and the sanctuary’s mission.
Willingness to follow instructions and maintain strict safety procedures.
Strong teamwork spirit and reliability—you’re someone animals and people can count on.
Comfort with physical, outdoor work in all types of weather.

Bonus Points

Experience in animal care, zookeeping, vet tech, or biology.
Public speaking, teaching, or customer service skills—great for tours!
Nonprofit, conservation, or hands-on volunteer experience.
