Maple Spring Farms LLC is hiring a Sprayer – Applicator to join our team in Airville, PA (about 25 miles southwest of Lancaster and 10 miles north of Maryland). In this role you will be operating new large scale agriculture equipment and farm machinery, including a self-propelled John Deere 120-foot boom sprayer, while supporting overall farm operations.

We are a 4th-generation family farm rooted in agriculture and stewardship of the land. We cover approximately 3,000 acres, producing corn, wheat, soybeans, and popcorn, plus raise miniature Highland cattle. We also provide custom lime spreading and other custom farming services utilizing modern farm machinery, primarily John Deere equipment. Our operation is also expanding with the construction of four broiler chicken houses for Tyson Foods.

Responsibilities/Job Description:

Operate a 120-foot boom sprayer to apply pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers
Mix, load, and apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers according to label directions and company standards in compliance with all pesticide laws
Maintain and preform necessary maintenance to sprayer
Maintain accurate application/data records as required
Safely and accurately apply crop inputs according to guidelines and field conditions
Operate & Maintain additional farm machinery and agriculture equipment troubleshooting as needed
Assist with routine equipment maintenance and repairs
Support other custom farming and agriculture tasks as requested
Calibrate equipment to ensure precise application rates
Communicate with supervisors and fellow workers regarding schedules and field conditions
Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work areas

Qualifications:

Prior experience operating a large boom sprayer
Pesticide License (private applicator license required prior to start date); Commercial License a plus
Experience with various types of large scale farm machinery and agricultural equipment
CDL preferred, but not required
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe operations
Reliable and punctual
Respectful of people, land, and equipment

Strong communication skills
Willingness to learn and grow within the farm operation
