Duties

Perform comprehensive examinations and diagnose medical conditions in animals, utilizing veterinary terminology and anatomical knowledge.
Develop and implement treatment plans, including surgical procedures, medical therapies, and preventive care strategies.
Handle animals safely using restraint techniques suitable for different species, including dogs, cats, equines, and exotic pets.
Administer vaccinations, perform laboratory tests, and interpret results to inform clinical decisions.
Conduct animal husbandry tasks such as grooming, feeding, and maintaining proper animal physiology and anatomy standards.
Assist with advanced procedures such as animal catheterization and aseptic techniques to ensure infection control during surgeries or treatments.
Provide pet care education to owners on topics like pet grooming, nutrition, behavior management, and general health maintenance.
Maintain detailed medical records with accuracy and professionalism while adhering to veterinary protocols.
Support emergency critical care cases requiring swift decision-making and veterinary critical care experience.
Participate in laboratory work or diagnostic testing to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Manage animal restraint during examinations or procedures with skillful handling of dogs and other species to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
Stay updated on current veterinary practices related to animal physiology and anatomy to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Veterinary degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure or eligibility to practice veterinary medicine in the relevant jurisdiction.
Proven veterinary experience with a strong foundation in animal handling, restraint techniques, and pet care fundamentals.
Experience in veterinary critical care is highly desirable; familiarity with emergency protocols is a plus.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Hands-on experience with animal catheterization, aseptic techniques, pet grooming, and pet care best practices.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining compassionate patient care.
Strong communication skills for educating pet owners about health management strategies effectively.
