Salty Underground is an internet/retail company specializing in the sale and aquaculture of marine livestock. We are seeking a motivated individual who is detail orientated, able to work in a fast paced environment, and able to be on their feet for extended periods of time. This person will be responsible for providing top-notch husbandry to the aquatic animals that will include daily observations of diet, behavioral habits, cleaning, and maintenance. The position will also include shipping, customer service, and other aspects of the business when needed.

Responsibilities/Duties

Ensuring workspaces, tools, and equipment are clean, organized, and functioning properly
Prepping and feeding food
Treating any injured/diseased individuals
Making observations and recognizing abnormal animal behavior/appearance
Acting upon/reporting such observations in a timely manner
Works independently as well as collaboratively on daily tasks and special projects.
Practices good judgment in decision-making as related to animal care, emergency situations, and projects, and communicates efficiently when their involvement is necessary.
Performs other duties as required such as customer service work, shipping, and other aspects of the business.

Qualifications/Requirements

Experience working with Saltwater Livestock, aquaculture , or related degree is preferred.
Must possess strong observational skills to ensure animal health and safety
Must possess sound judgment and the ability to use common sense for effective decision-making.
Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Good communication skills, attention to detail, and task completion are essential
Ability to work a flexible schedule that will include weekends and holidays as required.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, kneel, bend, crouch, squat, and stand for extended periods of time.
Weekend availability is required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
