Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and veterinary practices, demonstrating a commitment to providing high-quality support in a clinical environment. This role is essential in ensuring the health and well-being of our animal patients while assisting veterinarians in various procedures and treatments.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Perform animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both animals and staff.
Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, while maintaining aseptic techniques.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
Monitor animal vital signs and overall health during procedures and recovery.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Provide education to pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
Manage kennel duties including cleaning, feeding, and exercising animals.
Utilize veterinary terminology effectively in communication with team members and clients.
Assist with dental cleanings and understand dental terminology related to veterinary practices.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices.
Familiarity with veterinary critical care protocols is an asset.
Experience in laboratory procedures and diagnostics is desirable.
Proficiency in dog handling techniques
Ability to perform animal catheterization and understand various restraint methods.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
