Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Overnight Animal Care Attendant to provide compassionate and professional care for our boarding pups during nighttime hours. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal husbandry, veterinary assistance, or related fields, with the ability to handle animals safely and efficiently. This role is essential in ensuring the well-being of animals through attentive monitoring, medication administration, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Prior experience with kennel management, animal restraint, and veterinary terminology is highly valued.

Duties

Monitor animals overnight, ensuring their safety and comfort through regular rounds and observations
Administer medications
Assist with animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning, and providing enrichment activities
Handle dogs with behavioral issues using proper handling techniques
Maintain detailed records of feeding, medications, and belongings
Ensure cleanliness of kennels, cages, and the facility uphold hygiene standards
Communicate effectively with team team regarding any concerns or changes in animal condition

Qualifications

Previous kennel experience or animal care background preferred; veterinary technician or assistant experience highly desirable
Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology
Experience with pet care, dog handling, and animal restraint techniques
Familiarity with medication administration and aseptic procedures
Experience working in veterinary clinics or laboratories is a plus
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills
Ability to work overnight shifts reliably and independently in a fast-paced environment
