Job Summary
The Educator & Animal Caretaker plays a crucial role in the daily care and management of animals, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. You will be trained to handle and care for the zoo creatures properly and will be responsible for many of the educational presentations that incorporate them. This position involves working closely with various species, including insects, tarantulas, and other invertebrates , and requires being comfortable presenting in front of crowds. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality education programs while maintaining a clean and safe environment for the animals.

Duties

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, cage cleaning, and handling.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of animal enclosures and facilities.
Maintain animal care records.
Present various educational lessons to children and community members.
Travel to locations where educational presentations have been requested.
Engage in moderate lifting tasks related to feeding and moving animals or equipment.
Implement proper handling techniques to ensure the safety of both animals and staff.
Participate in training programs related to education and animal husbandry practices.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
