Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, with a passion for providing high-quality veterinary services. This role involves working closely with veterinarians and other staff to ensure the health and well-being of our animal patients. The Veterinary Technician will play a crucial role in delivering medical care, assisting in surgeries, and providing support to pet owners.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
Monitor animal vital signs and behavior during procedures and recovery.
Provide dental care services, including cleanings and assessments using veterinary terminology.
Handle animals safely and effectively, utilizing proper restraint techniques.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry, nutrition, and care practices.
Participate in the grooming of animals as needed.
Assist with radiographic imaging (X-ray) procedures when required.

Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:

Previous veterinary technician experience is required.
Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and common veterinary terminology.
Experience with animal handling techniques, including dog training and restraint methods with an emphasis on fear free and low stress techniques.
Maintenance of common veterinary tools and equipment.
Nursing care, surgical/dental assistance, and medical record keeping are expected
Familiarity with kennel operations is a plus.
Background in veterinary critical care or laboratory experience is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
