DAYSHIFT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Purpose:	Supervises and coordinates activities of skilled trade workers engaged in maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, utility systems, buildings, and grounds.
Responsibilities:	• Directs workers engaged in major painting projects, performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, andfurnishings of buildings, and maintaining and repairing building utility systems such as electrical wiring and controls, heating, and ventilating systems. • Supervises workers engaged in installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical equipment. Supervises employeeswho maintain, repair and service plant equipment, buildings, and facilities. • Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards. • Prepares work schedules. Makes work assignments to subordinates. • Interprets company policy to employees and enforces company policy and practices. • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems. • Works on projects involving the construction of new buildings and facilities and the alteration or modification ofexisting ones. • Maintains production equipment in a manner that meets organization standards and ensures minimumequipment downtime. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies. • Establishes and maintains preventive maintenance programs and procedures. Administers training programs toensure proper operations, preventive maintenance, and repair programs and procedures. • May direct workers engaged in ground maintenance activities such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removingweeds, raking and disposing of leaves and refuse, and snow removal.
Basic Qualifications:	• Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience. • Must have experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment. • Must be able to work flexible hours/shifts as needed. Must be willing to work 6 and 7 day work schedules. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
WORK ENVIRONMENT:	The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be exposed to both an office environment and the production environment of wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the production environment is usually loud. Applicant must also be able to do the following: • Sitting 10% of the time and Standing 90% • Workable use of both hands and able to grasp. • Good eye sight (with or without corrective lens). • Able to perform repetitive task. • Able to walk, stand, reach, bend, climb, push, pull, and stoup. • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. in weight.
