This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The purpose of the Senior Derivatives Trader is to execute and manage internal dry FFA flow, share market intelligence with the Physical desks and develop actionable trading strategies based on both fundamental and non-fundamental drivers. This role requires strong communication skills, risk management acumen and a strategic and collaborative mindset.
Key Accountabilities
- Execute and leverage internal dry FFA order flow
- Develop a collaborative relationship with OT’s Physical desks and other trading groups active in the FFA market
- Sharing of relevant and timely FFA market insights, including market flow and positioning
- Develop a deep understanding of fundamental and non-fundamental market drivers and leverage internal physical market insights.
- Develop and articulate a clear gameplan and proactively manage risk exposure within defined limits, ensuring alignment with broader trading strategies
- Offer custom-made risk management solutions by pricing non-standard products and options
- Daily reconciliation of positions and PnL
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of trading systems and processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related or quantitative field
- 5 years or above experience working in trading and/or commodity businesses
- Proven risk-taking capability, strong risk management disciplines
- Track record in generating proprietary trading income
- Ability to combine multiple analytical, technical and fundamental drivers
- Effective communicator and collaborative mindset
