Retail Business Unit Head – Companion Animal Division
Location: Bridgewater, NJ (Preferred)
Job Summary and Purpose:
Ceva Animal Health is seeking a visionary and commercially focused Retail Business Unit Head to lead our U.S. Companion Animal retail strategy across all channels. This executive-level role will serve as the general manager and P&L owner of a high-growth, high-priority vertical within Ceva’s North American business.
As the leader of this business unit, you will own the end-to-end strategy, performance, and long-range planning for all retail and e-commerce segments, including Amazon, Chewy, pet specialty, farm & fleet, and mass retail. This role requires an agile, growth-oriented leader who can balance enterprise-level strategy with hands-on commercial execution.
You will oversee a cross-functional team spanning sales, marketing, customer marketing, digital, and trade execution, while also collaborating closely with global product development, supply chain, finance, and regulatory counterparts. This is a high-impact opportunity for a senior executive ready to scale one of Ceva’s most strategic platforms.
Responsibilities and Key Duties:
Business Leadership & P&L Ownership
- Full ownership of the U.S. Retail Companion Animal P&L, with responsibility for revenue growth, margin performance, and profitability
- Define and execute a multi-year business plan with clear financial and strategic milestones
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver against topline and bottom-line targets
Strategic Growth & Innovation
- Shape and execute the long-term retail strategy, including new product development, lifecycle management (LCM), and go-to-market approaches
- Partner with global and regional stakeholders to influence product pipeline priorities and channel-specific innovation
- Lead retail-focused digital transformation efforts, including data-driven marketing and omnichannel integration
Commercial Execution
- Oversee the management of all key customer relationships, including Amazon, Chewy, Petco, PetSmart, and farm & fleet retail partners
- Drive promotional, pricing, and assortment strategies to optimize performance across channels
- Lead strategic negotiations for trade investments, contracts, and national marketing programs
Team Leadership & Culture
- Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing team across key account management, e-commerce, digital marketing, and customer marketing
- Establish a performance-driven, collaborative culture focused on accountability, innovation, and results
Channel & Consumer Insights
- Leverage market data, shopper insights, and category trends to inform strategy and execution
- Identify and capitalize on whitespace opportunities to drive incremental growth and brand penetration

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in CPG, pet care, animal health, or related industries
- Demonstrated success managing large, complex P&Ls and cross-functional commercial teams
- Deep understanding of retail and e-commerce dynamics in the U.S. pet or health-related consumer space
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong communicator and influencer at both executive and operational levels
- Passion for pets, innovation, and customer-centric growth
Travel Required:
- This role requires up to 30% travel, with a high concentration of customer meetings and industry conferences in Q1.
- May be frequent travel to Ceva’s locations in NC, KC, plus 1-2 trips per year to Ceva’s global headquarters in Libourne, France.
