Travel Requirement: Approximately 30% to UK sites, with occasional travel to Germany

LANXESS is a leading specialty chemicals company seeking a dedicated and proactive Field Support Engineer to join our IT team. Based primarily at our Trafford Park site in Manchester, this role provides essential on-site technical support across multiple UK locations. You will ensure the effective installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT equipment and systems in both office and industrial environments.

About the role!
• Deliver a mixture of on-site and remote technical support for hardware, software, and systems at various UK locations
• Install, configure, and test new equipment and software
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimise downtime
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on user and infrastructure systems
• Provide high-quality customer service, explaining technical issues clearly to users
• Document support activities and installations in ServiceNow
• Ensure all work complies with safety, security, and IT standards
• Collaborate with global IT colleagues, local teams, and external providers to ensure consistent service delivery
• Present and communicate relevant aspects of the LANXESS IT strategy to local stakeholders
• Oversee local procurement and budget management for IT services and equipment
Requirements
About You!
• Proven experience in technical support or a field service role
• Strong working knowledge of hardware, software, and IT systems
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to support users at all levels
• Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Willingness to travel regularly to other UK sites and occasionally to Germany
• Valid UK driving licence
• Familiarity with IT service platforms (e.g., ServiceNow), Windows environments, and mobile technologies is desirable
• Understanding of LAN/WAN infrastructure and ITIL principles is advantageous
