Regional Veterinary Operations Manager

Associated Veterinary Partners is a multi-site veterinary practice group dedicated to providing exceptional service to our partner practices, their pets, and their families.
The Veterinary Regional Operations Manager (ROM) is responsible for leading and supporting a network of veterinary hospitals within a designated geographic region. This role ensures operational excellence, drives financial performance, fosters high-performing teams, and supports consistent delivery of high-quality veterinary care. The ROM partners with hospital leadership teams to implement corporate initiatives, optimize workflows, and align with company goals and values.
- Implement and maintain standardized procedures and best practices across all sites.
- Monitor and improve operational metrics such as patient care, client satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Manage daily operations of multiple practices, ensuring smooth integration and continuity.
- Support hospital management teams during and after transitions.
- Analyze operational reports to identify and implement improvements.
- Oversee staff scheduling, staffing optimization, and resource allocation.
- Hire, mentor, and develop veterinarians, practice managers, and support staff.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work culture.
- Conduct regular site visits for coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
- Lead performance reviews and manage personnel issues in collaboration with Human Resources, including hiring, counseling, and termination.
- Oversee onboarding and ongoing development of staff.
- Conduct interviews for veterinarian and management positions and participate in compensation decisions.
- Coach local leaders on financial and operational systems for your cohort of practices within the network.
- Develop and manage hospital budgets in collaboration with finance.
- Conduct monthly P&L reviews and analyze financial performance.
- Oversee revenue growth, cost management, and financial reporting.
- Assist with annual budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Drive regional strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead change management during acquisitions, system implementations, and expansions.
- Develop and track action plans, goals, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with leadership on market positioning and system improvements.
- Lead regional meetings and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure hospitals deliver exceptional client service and patient care.
- Support initiatives to increase new client visits.
- Uphold clinical standards and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with medical leadership to maintain clinical excellence.
- Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and safety standards.
- Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, staffing, and policy compliance.
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability.
- Devise and implement workflows tailored to hospital needs.
- Roll out best practices and standardized procedures.
- Lead the integration of new technology and practice management systems.
- Oversee software deployment, training, and data management.
- Manage vendor relationships and account transitions.
- Facilitate effective communication between hospitals and corporate leadership.
- Provide regular updates on regional performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Experience in the veterinary or animal healthcare industry
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or similar
- Knowledge of veterinary practice management software (e.g., AVImark, Cornerstone, ezyVet)

Requirements
- 5+ years of multi-site operations management experience, preferably in veterinary,
healthcare, or service-related industries
- Strong financial acumen and experience with P&L responsibility
- Proven ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency leading, developing, and motivating teams
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of veterinary practice operations, financial management, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to travel frequently within the region (up to 50%)
