Cat Depot is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic team of cat lovers! The ideal candidate will support the medical team in providing high-quality medical care, have excellent cleaning and feeding detail, possess outstanding powers of observation and documentation, and have a strong work history.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during exams, surgeries, treatments and other procedures.
- Handle and restrain safely and effectively using Fear Free techniques.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Setup laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
- Setup for surgies, dental procedures, and ultrasound.
- Administer medications.
- Monitor the health of cats in our care and report changes or concerns to the veterinary team.
- Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, addressing their questions and concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, treatments, and medications.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal rescue is preferred.
- Strong animal handling skills.
- Fear Free training or willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A genuine love for cats and commitment to their welfare.
