Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service and support to pet owners while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping animals.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism, creating a welcoming environment.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Handle medical collections and process payments accurately.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
- Assist veterinarians with various tasks as needed, which may on occasion include animal restraint and handling.
- Provide information to clients regarding pet care, services offered, and veterinary terminology.
- Manage incoming calls and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure optimal patient care.
Requirements
- Prior experience at a front desk of a medical practice preferred, and a veterinary practice even better.
- Candidate must have great telephone etiquette and be highly proficient in verbal communication and writing skills.
- Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking environment and work well within a team.
- Have an understanding of basic veterinary terminology and procedures.
- Comfort discussing sensitive topics (e.g., end-of-life care, financial discussions) with empathy.
- Ability to maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanor.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
