As we continue to grow, we’re looking to add a Remote Veterinary Nurse/Client Liaison who is not only skilled in communication and client support but who also brings veterinary clinical experience and a deep sense of empathy to every interaction.
About the Role:
This is not your typical receptionist job. You'll play a central role in our practice’s care team—serving as the first point of contact for pet parents, and supporting clients through their pets’ cancer journeys. You’ll work from the comfort of your own home, but your voice, warmth, and professionalism will be an invaluable asset to our practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls and respond to emails and messages with empathy, professionalism, and knowledge of veterinary medicine
- Perform callbacks and check-ins on previous days appointments and critical patients
- Build trusting relationships with clients facing serious diagnoses in their pets
- Coordinate initial consultation appointments, follow-ups, and treatment schedules
- Serve as a communication hub between clients and our clinical team, address client/patient concerns with our clinical team as needed
- Manage digital records, intake forms, and scheduling systems
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues or guide clients through online forms and portals
- Communicate with other veterinary clinics to facilitate medical record collection, patient referrals, and coordinated patient care
- Support internal team operations with administrative tasks as needed - including but not limited to New Mexico Practice Act, Inventory, AAHA, and OSHA protocols and policies.
- Work closely with our in-clinic Operations Manager, and our remote Front Office Manager to assist where needed
- Managing and tracking outside lab tests, arranging collection and shipment of samples, medications, and more
What We’re Looking For:
- Licensed or Certified Veterinary Nurse (required)
- At least 2 years of clinical experience in a veterinary setting
- Outstanding communication and listening skills
- High emotional intelligence and empathy—confidence in communicating with clients and having difficult conversations
- Tech-savvy: comfortable using practice management software, email, phone systems, and cloud-based tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to be a self-starter
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Comfortable working independently and remotely in a quiet, professional home environment
Remote Work Requirements:
- Reliable high-speed internet
- Clear cell phone signal or reliable VoIP access
- A quiet, private workspace
- Your own computer with updated software and basic troubleshooting know-how
Why Join Us:
- Be part of a small, close-knit, compassionate team
- Competitive pay and benefits
- Make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their people
- Flexible scheduling and remote work from the comfort of your home, while maintaining an active role in the day-to-day activities at the clinic
- Work for an integrative, innovative specialty oncology practice that is constantly improving and implementing the latest advances in veterinary oncology medicine
