Looking for an Experienced Technician to join our team! We are a busy 5 doctor practice in Bend, Oregon. Limited weekends, no holidays or nights.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are looking for a technician competent in anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery with 3+ years of experience, with experience in various veterinary practices. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care to our patients, assisting veterinarians in clinical procedures, and ensuring the well-being of animals in our facility.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any changes or concerns.
- Provide support in dental procedures using appropriate terminology and techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff by following aseptic techniques.
- Handle animals safely and effectively during examinations, treatments, and grooming sessions.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and training techniques.
- Participate in emergency veterinary/urgent care when necessary, but limited.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices.
- Experience with animal handling techniques, including restraint and catheterization.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures related to veterinary care.
- Laboratory experience is a plus, particularly in performing diagnostic tests.
- Equine experience is beneficial for those working with larger animals.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Retention Bonus Available: 6 months of continuous employment $500; 1 year of continued employment $800!
Pay: Ranges DOE & License status - $22-$35
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
