Overview
Full time associate veterinarian. Our practice is 80% small animal and 20% equine. No on call, No after hours emergencies. Equine work is not required. This position can be 100% small animal if applicant prefers. Work schedule is 4 or 5 days a week (applicant can choose) and every 3rd Saturday. Pay is base salary with bonus paid twice a year for production.
Our practice has a board certified theriogenologist on staff and does a lot of canine reproduction. Applicants must be willing to learn and assist with reproductive services.
Digital xray, digital ultrasound, gas anesthesia and multiple monitoring devices, in house lab machines, dental machine, two surgery rooms, orthopedic surgery equipment.
Mentoring available for young veterinarians as needed.
Pay is base salary with production bonus. The more you want to work, the more money you will make. More time off, less money. Base salary will be based on experience and schedule.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose conditions.
- Perform surgeries and medical procedures as necessary, utilizing aseptic techniques.
- Administer vaccinations and medications to prevent disease and promote health.
- Provide emergency care for critically ill or injured animals, utilizing veterinary critical care experience.
- Utilize knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology in diagnostics and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, documenting treatments and progress.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Handle animals safely using appropriate restraint techniques during examinations and procedures.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians in the delivery of patient care, including laboratory testing and pet grooming.
- Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine through continuous education.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary college.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in the state.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary diagnostics.
- Experience with equine medicine is a plus but not required.
