\r\n\t\r\n\tOur client, a childcare catering company, is searching for a Receiving and Inventory Control Supervisor in Markham. The Receiving and Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing accurate and efficient receipt, storage, and picking of all raw materials required for production. This role ensures inventory accuracy and availability to support daily operations and production needs.\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tReporting to the Production Manager, this position will lead the Receiving Department and work closely with the Production team. Key responsibilities include maintaining optimal inventory levels, staging and recording returns or losses, and leveraging the ERP system to prepare daily consumption reports and purchase order receipts. This role also includes developing and managing relationships with suppliers, sourcing new vendors for menu items, and continuously seeking cost-effective purchasing options for both food and non-food items.\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tThe Receiving and Inventory Control Supervisor is accountable for maintaining quality standards across all receiving and inventory functions, ensuring material handling equipment is certified annually, and that all team members hold current material handling licenses. The goal of this role is to ensure seamless daily operations that meet or exceed performance expectations.\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tRESPONSIBILITIES:\r\n\r\n\tInventory Management and Control\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tDaily inspection of the warehouse to ensure the inventory levels are maintained and FIFO process is being utilized and proper HACCP receiving, internal movement including HOLDS and storage are being followed.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tEnsures inventory team thoroughly checks products when receiving for quantity, quality, temperature (and other HACCP requirements) and the product received matches the product ordered.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tProactively resolves variances with the vendors to ensure the food is ready and available for production to meet their demand along with resolving substitutes with the Menu Co-ordinator.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tGenerate Daily production guide and cross check the menu, weekly purchasing reports from ERP and order accordingly- Direct Buy and Distributors.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tEnsure all the required food is on site 24-48 hours prior to being needed in production.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tWork closely with Production to ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tPreparation and receipt of all purchase orders to ERP.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tPerform Daily Consumption, report yield vs. supplier related losses, shipping and closing of all production orders.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tEnsure all purchases meet all CFIA/HACCP requirements.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tMonthly physical inventory counts, data entries and analysis of results.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tWork with inventory and production team to ensure the freshest products are on hand and are donated / discarded appropriately.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tProactively and in a timely fashion, communicate supply and inventory challenges to Production Supervisors, Customer Service and Management.\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tVendor Management\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tEvaluate, develop, and manage relationships with existing vendors; seek and develop new vendors.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tNegotiate and close both short-term and long-term purchasing contracts upon recommendation to and with approvals from Production Manager.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tContinuously gather and communicate market intelligence to understand and analyze current and future market conditions; use market information to assist in building sourcing strategies, involved in negotiations and purchasing decisions, and assist in pricing discussions with vendors.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tAttend and participate in vendor and tradeshow meetings as required\r\n\t\r\n\t\tRespects and follows the Supplier Approval Program\r\n\t\r\n\t\tPick up any last minute (shorts) in the company van\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tReceiving\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tCoordinate Drivers to make food pick-ups for production as required.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tResolve issues regarding shipped and received orders as well as inventory accuracy.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tCollaborate with the Production team and Customer Care team to communicate regarding daily workflows and to optimize processes for picking of production items all the way through to the delivery to the customer.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tOversee the acceptance of deliveries.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tOversee the process and ensure loading and unloading deliveries is done in a secure and accurate manor.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tProblem solving for any cases of missing documents, shipments or deliveries.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tMaintain an organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tEnsure the proper sorting and distribution of incoming shipments.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tEnsure products meet expiration code requirements, and are nut free, pork free and shellfish free.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tOversee and manage the budget of the Receiving department.\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tWorkplace Safety:\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tDevelop and uphold a culture of food safety across the organization, ensuring all team members adhere to best practices and guidelines.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tEnsure a safe work environment is always maintained.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tMaintain compliance with JHSC recommendations, Catering’s internal policies, and attend monthly and quarterly JHSC meetings.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tEnsure Food Safety and HACCP guidelines are followed, including the completion of pre-requisite programs for shipping and receiving, pertaining to food temperature, proper handling of food and materials, and adherence to guidelines on who can and cannot handle food\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tTalent:\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tProvide leadership and direct supervision to employees in their department.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tManage employees, provide training, coaching and development opportunities.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tEnsuring that proper employee documentation is sent to HR in a timely and accurate manner.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tHaving open and honest communication with employees and being able to have crucial, conversations when necessary.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tDeveloping “A” players to uphold a high performing production team.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tFollow the company’s talent management program with objectivity and meeting timelines of the program, providing reports, arranging feedback sessions and following up on action items.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tApprove payroll, attendance requirements, vacation and wellness planning of each AM team member and approve hours/update ADP accordingly.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tParticipate in the recruitment process by selecting the most suitable candidates.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tEffectively coach and counsel employees in dealing with only the employee relations matters, and work with HR on any challenging concerns.\r\n\t\r\n\t\tMaintaining a regular cadence with the team (daily huddles, weekly meetings, 121’s, and regular employee check ins and feedback sessions).
