Summary:
This position is responsible for managing the production and delivery of high-quality feed to Tyson Growers in the most cost-effective manner while ensuring full compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Key duties include maintaining daily ingredient inventory for Tyson and FDA compliance, monitoring driver reports for DOT compliance, and leading team members across Production, Housekeeping, and Preventative Maintenance functions.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Coordinating production schedules and ingredient orders
- Scheduling feed recovery
- Overseeing preventive maintenance and parts ordering
- Managing inventory levels to remain within tolerance for both parts and ingredients
This role plays a critical part in utilizing continuous improvement tools to enhance:
- Pellet and crumble quality
- Production efficiency (tons per hour/week)
- Load efficiency and delivery turnaround times
The successful candidate will lead a strong safety culture, provide effective training, and communicate clearly with team members to resolve any operational issues in both mill and trucking operations. This position also serves as the primary contact for addressing customer concerns related to feed quality, delivery, and recovery.
Budget and capital planning responsibilities are also essential, including the development and execution of operational budgets and capital requests. This position will report directly to management, drive improvement in key performance metrics, and serve as the primary liaison with the complex’s toll-milling partner.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent management experience considered
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years’ experience in feed mill operations and feed delivery management
- Travel: Minimal travel required
- Computer Skills: Proficient in using spreadsheets, writing documents, and generating data queries
- Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record in accordance with Tyson’s Fleet Safety Manual
