S&S Feeders is hiring a Feedlot Foreman to join their team at our Willow Creek location in Remsen, IA (about 35 miles northeast of Sioux City). In this role you will be managing our 1000-head feedlot and assist with operations at our 3000-head home feedlot in Remsen responsibilities include but not limited to feeding, providing health checks and performing treatments to cattle.
We are a family-oriented agricultural operation based in Northwest Iowa. With over 1200 acres of corn, 1100 acres of soybeans, and 4000 head of cattle (feeder-to-finish), we are a leader in diversified livestock and crop production. We offer competitive compensation of $60,000+ based on experience, housing for the right person with paid utilities, company vehicle, two heated and air-conditioned shops, and more.
What you will be doing:
- Daily management of a 1000-head cattle feedlot
- Assist with feeding, health checks, treatments, and cattle movement
- Collaborate with the home feedlot team (3000 head) as needed
- Operate and maintain John Deere equipment for feeding and manure handling
- Monitor and report cattle performance and feed inventory
- Maintain clean and safe working conditions
- Assist with seasonal agricultural work during planting and harvest
- Help ensure compliance with animal welfare and environmental standards
This job is for you if you have:
- Experience working with livestock and cattle feeding operations
- Strong knowledge of general agriculture practices
- Experience operating farm equipment, especially John Deere machinery
- Class 1 CDL is a plus, but not required
- Self-motivated, honest, and dependable
- Ability to work flexible hours, especially during busy seasons
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
