The Dickerson Park Zoo is seeking the next Zoo keeper. The Zoo's animal collection is composed of many species managed through the Species Survival Plan of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Zoo participates in AZA SAFE programs for threatened species such as giraffes, radiated tortoise, and cheetahs. Our Zoo keepers are a part of a collaborative team environment, that work closely with veterinary staff, education and maintenance.
This position will work primarily in the Tropical Asia section of Dickerson Park Zoo, focusing on our zoo's Asian elephants, Malayan tigers and Siamang gibbons. We are looking for an individual with experience in animal husbandry and operant conditioning that works well in a team atmosphere and fast paced environment. Experience working with Elephants is preferred.
