We’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Night Shift Veterinary Assistant to join our overnight team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves animals, and wants to be part of a supportive team making a difference when pets and their families need it most.
Position: Veterinary Assistant – Nights
What You’ll Do
- Support veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and emergency procedures
- Comfort and handle pets with care, ensuring their safety and wellbeing
- Assist with prepping patients for surgery, administering medications, and monitoring during recovery
- Collect lab samples (blood, urine, fecal) and run basic diagnostic tests
- Keep exam, treatment, and surgical areas clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Communicate with pet parents with compassion, explaining care instructions and updates
- Provide extra support during critical cases — from patient restraint to emergency assistance
- Be a vital part of the hospital team that keeps our overnight care seamless
What We’re Looking For
- Previous veterinary assistant experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate
- Comfortable working overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts as part of a 24/7 emergency team
- A true animal lover with patience, empathy, and a calm presence — especially in emergencies
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Physical ability to safely lift and restrain animals (with help for pets over 40 lbs.)
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and ready to pitch in wherever needed
