Veterinary Customer Service Representative – Atlas Veterinary Urgent Care
Where strength, compassion, and trust lead the way.
Do you have a heart for helping both pets and people—and a talent for keeping things calm, clear, and organized even when the day gets hectic? Atlas Veterinary Urgent Care is an independently owned, startup veterinary urgent care clinic opening in Augusta, Maine in September 2025, and we’re building a team that leads with empathy, teamwork, and professionalism.
About You:
You’re a skilled communicator who can stay calm and compassionate when clients are anxious or emotional. You know how to listen, explain clearly, and de-escalate when needed. You’ve got a strong grasp of veterinary terminology and are confident triaging calls, answering questions, and guiding pet owners through next steps. You also understand that great veterinary teams support each other across roles—so you’re just as willing to pitch in with cleaning or restocking as you are answering the phone.
About Us:
Atlas Veterinary Urgent Care is led by Dr. Jen Mirecki, DVM, who believes in compassionate leadership, open communication, and building a workplace culture rooted in support and work-life balance. We’re committed to creating a team where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to do their best work.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a CSR, you’ll be the first face and voice our clients encounter. You’ll play a vital role in creating a positive experience during some of the most stressful moments pet owners face.
Your responsibilities may include:
· Answering phones, triaging calls, and communicating with clients clearly and compassionately
· Scheduling appointments and managing the flow of patient visits
· Greeting clients and checking them in and out efficiently
· Handling payments and processing transactions
· Assisting with client education and explaining services or next steps
· Supporting the team with light cleaning, restocking, or other clinic needs as they arise
· Helping maintain a calm, professional, and empathetic front desk environment
What We’re Looking For:
· 2+ years of experience in veterinary customer service or reception is required
· Strong phone skills and the ability to communicate confidently and kindly
· Experience navigating emotional or stressful client situations
· Comfort with basic veterinary medical terminology and understanding of urgent care needs
· Computer skills and tech-savviness to manage software, communication tools, and digital records
· A team-first mindset and willingness to support all areas of the hospital when needed
· Dependability, professionalism, and attention to detail
Work Schedule:
This is an hourly position. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and select holidays is essential—but we’re just as committed to ensuring work-life balance and protecting your time off.
