Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medicine, with experience in critical care and a passion for animal welfare. This role involves diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, providing preventive care, and educating pet owners on proper animal care practices. The Veterinarian will work closely with our support staff to ensure the highest standards of care for our patients. We are looking for a Veterinarian to cover Wednesdays at a minimum. There is potential for the position to transition to full time as the practice grows.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions.
- Administer vaccinations and medications as needed, following appropriate protocols.
- Perform surgical procedures and assist in critical care situations, ensuring the safety and comfort of the animal.
- Utilize veterinary terminology accurately when communicating with staff and pet owners.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients, documenting treatments and outcomes.
- Provide guidance on animal husbandry, nutrition, and general pet care to pet owners.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, employing proper animal restraint techniques during examinations and procedures.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians to perform laboratory tests and interpret results.
- Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine, including ongoing education in animal physiology and anatomy.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
- Veterinary critical care experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and common veterinary terminology.
- Experience in animal handling and restraint techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and laboratory procedures is advantageous.
- Experience with equine medicine is a plus for those interested in working with larger animals.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate pet owners on best practices for pet care.

Pay: $25,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
