Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze samples.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal health and behavior, providing critical care when necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment by following aseptic techniques and proper sanitation protocols.
- Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, dental care, and general health maintenance.
- Handle animals safely and effectively in various settings, including kennels and during transport.
- Utilize veterinary terminology accurately in all communications.
Experience
Candidates should have experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Animal husbandry practices
- Veterinary critical care protocols
- Dental terminology related to veterinary medicine
- Animal catheterization techniques
- Laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary diagnostics
- Aseptic technique for surgical environments
- Kennel management practices
