We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Northgate team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will provide accurate and timely financial information to support our wholesale distribution and software businesses across Australia & New Zealand. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large, head office finance team and be part of a global organisation that makes a positive impact to our vet customers and pet owners.
Your responsibilities will include –
- Produce on a timely and accurate basis allocated balance sheet reconciliations.
- Produce on a timely and accurate basis allocated profit and loss month end analysis.
- Calculate and post a variety of accruals postings.
- Prepare monthly reporting for AIRC/CCG training & consulting businesses, including ensuring accurate revenue recognition, accruals and other entries as required.
- Reconcile and prepare monthly vendor rebates invoices.
- Reconcile and approve corporate sales rebate invoices.
- Analyse and update monthly accrual procedures for new contracts between either corporate buying groups or vendor rebates.
- Assist with the completion of statutory financial statements.
- Assist with forecast and budget submissions.
- Undertake Controls testing and monitor to ensure that all testing is completed in order to meet reporting requirements and deadlines.
- Participate in various project workgroups where necessary.
- Preparation for both internal and external Auditors.
About You
Ideally you will display –
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Commerce coupled with CA/CPA qualifications (or working towards).
- Demonstrated three years experience within a large, commercial environment and accounting team.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel.
- Well developed interpersonal skills with an ability to adapt your communication to suit different internal stakeholders.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise your work in an agile way.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a focus on seeking out continuous improvement opportunities.
