Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and husbandry, with hands-on experience in farming or agriculture. This role involves providing daily care for a variety of animals, ensuring their health and well-being while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

This position is a farm work position and requires working in an environment with dust, in addition to bending over several times during the workday and lift weights up to 40 lbs max.

Schedule is Monday through Friday 6 AM to 2:30PM or 7AM to 3:30PM.

Duties

Check feed system is working properly and availability and distribution of the feed on the feed lines.
Check water system and ensure daily water intake
Collect eggs on a daily basis
Fill out forms and prepare documentation
General cleaning and disinfection of common areas and barns
Collect birds and document data in a daily and weekly basis
Perform alarm/air/light tests

Qualifications

Experience in farming, agriculture, or related fields is preferred.
Strong skills in animal handling and care, with an emphasis on safety and comfort for the animals.
Familiarity with veterinary practices is a plus; previous veterinary experience is highly regarded.
Basic math skills for measuring feed quantities and maintaining records.
Knowledge of sanitation procedures to ensure a clean environment for both animals and staff.
Ability to lift heavy loads safely and effectively.
Experience with equine care is beneficial but not mandatory.
A passion for working with animals and a commitment to their well-being.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
