- Base Salary HEO5 Step 1 $97,446 p.a - $109,104 p.a + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Livestock Veterinary Services Camden, this position serves an integral role in the Livestock Unit. As a postgraduate intern, you will have a responsibility for diagnosis, treatment, and management of in-house, ambulatory and after-hours cases of the UVTHC and will provide close supervision of clinical year veterinary students rotating through the service. Engagement with veterinary practical and clinical teaching will be expected.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- provide veterinary services to clients of the Livestock Service - responsible for diagnosis and treatment of primary care and referral patients, routine health and production services for ruminant producers under guidance of the LS Director
- ensure all client services are provided at a high standard including accurate and timely billing, record keeping, vehicle stock control and client follow-up
- practice and promote professional standards of biosecurity, to track and keep abreast of potential infectious disease outbreaks
- assist in training of undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary students rotating through the LS unit under the guidance of the Director of LS
- independently promote expansion of the clientele of the LS and range of services offered to clients and producers
- contribute to after hours and weekend rosters.

Veterinary Internship - Livestock who has:
- a veterinary degree registrable in NSW
- previous experience handling cattle and small ruminants/camelids
- new graduate veterinarian or veterinarian with limited veterinary registration with some clinical experience
