We’re looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Aquarist to join our team – someone who thrives in a fast-paced, science-driven environment where no two days are ever the same.
What You’ll Do:
As an Aquarist, you’ll be an integral part of our animal care team, responsible for the daily husbandry of a wide variety of marine and freshwater species. You’ll work closely with our life support systems and play a key role in the health and wellbeing of the animals under your care.
- Hands-On Husbandry: Feed, monitor, and observe marine animals, ensuring their physical and behavioural needs are met.
- Health & Treatment: Administer treatments, assist with medical procedures, and keep detailed health records.
- Exhibit Maintenance: Keep tanks clean, visually appealing, and biologically balanced for both animals and visitors.
- Daily Organization: Plan, prioritize, and log your tasks with precision, collaborating with curators, veterinarians, and fellow aquarists.
- Life Support: Maintain mechanical, biological, and chemical filtration systems.
Who You Are:
✔Passionate about marine biology, aquatic ecosystems, and animal care
✔Comfortable working in and around water (including getting into the tanks)
✔ Skilled at multitasking and maintaining detailed records
✔Mechanically inclined and comfortable troubleshooting pumps, filters,
✔A great teammate who thrives in a collaborative environment

Qualifications:
- Preferred degree in Marine Biology, Zoology, Aquaculture, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Previous experience in aquatic animal husbandry preferred
- Knowledge of water chemistry and life support systems highly desirable
