Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Urgent Care Veterinarian to join our dynamic team in a private practice setting. In this role, you will provide high-quality medical care to animals in urgent need. You will work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your veterinary critical care experience to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions. This position requires leadership skills, efficient work flow, and balanced multi-tasking.
Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals presenting with urgent health issues
- Administer emergency treatments and perform life-saving procedures
- Utilize animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the animals and the staff
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient
- Perform emergency surgery including but not limited to foreign body removal, splenectomy, cystotomy, GDV surgery, laceration repair and c-sections.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Veterinary urgent care experience is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices
- Exceptional client service ethic
- Surgical experience
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple cases simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
