Position SummaryThis position is responsible for customer account management and coordinating and executing trading activities for assigned commodities.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the buying and selling activities for assigned commoditiesDevelop deeper understanding of supply and demand survey market conditions and analyze other economic forces in order to establish position in the marketInitiate negotiate and agree on terms of commodity purchase/sale contracts such as price quality quantity transportation timing and paymentArrange efficient transportation of commodities both by truck and railEnsure thorough and accurate follow-up execution and closure to all contractsResearch and identify new customers and/or suppliers as well as develop and maintain regular communication to build and grow current customer relationshipsAnalyze commodity markets to identify trading opportunitiesGain basic understanding of arbitrage macro-environmental factors that impact the supply and demand of commodities and logistics process and decision makingWhat is expected of you and others at this levelIntermediate knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.Solves a range of straightforward problemsAnalyzes possible solutions using standard proceduresReceives a moderate level of guidance and directionEducation & ExperienceBachelorâs Degree required or the equivalent in work experience preferably in Agriculture Business Finance Economics or related major2-5 yearsâ of experience required in commodity merchandising originations or tradingExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar softwarePhysical Requirements and Working EnvironmentProlonged period of sitting at a desk and working at a computerThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
