Interns receive a broad and hands-on experience in all aspects of commodity merchandising including but not limited to:Buying and selling of commoditiesDaily analysis of local national and global marketsTransportation and logisticsPrice developmentSupply Chain ManagementÂRelationship Building with CustomersÂThis internship will be located at our Central Office Building in Maumee OH. Housing is provided.Day to Day Responsibilities of Commodity Merchandising Interns include:Communicate effectively with The Andersons internal and external customersObtain marketing knowledge and insight of local national and global cash grain and grain product marketing trading and flowsAssist in evaluating changing crop and market conditionsSupport merchants manage customer relationships contracts logistics data analytics and other activitiesÂDevelop merchandising skills to provide a base knowledge for future merchandising opportunitiesÂFor the Commodity Merchandising Intern Experience we are looking for individuals who meet the following requirements:Pursuing a Bachelorâs Degree in Agriculture Business Finance Economics or other related majorsCurrent junior or equivalent preferredOne year of relevant work experience or internshipsFluent in English knowledge of second language is a plusDemonstrate leadership ability and ability to influence othersSelf-starter who is highly motivated with an entrepreneurial mindsetAble to work independently and in a team environmentÂExperience in customer service and able to proactively identify and resolve issuesComfortable taking appropriate risksÂExcellent written and verbal skills and detail-oriented in the areas that require analysisThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
