\r\n\r\nJob Description: \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Opportunity:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAs part of Maple Leaf Food’s corporate engineering team, this position will provide technical leadership and manage the on site execution of key projects at various facilities. Projects will be aimed at upgrading facilities, equipment redesign, and line modifications within the Maple Leaf Foods Inc capital plan. The Corporate Engineering team is based in the corporate office in Mississauga, ON but this role is based in Manitoba. \r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDevelop scope, CAD layout, budget, and schedule for proposed capital projects in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders\r\n\tManage and supervise the execution of assigned capital projects ($3M-$30M) to budget, timeline and performance targets.\r\n\tEnsure assigned projects are managed in accordance with project management best practices and Maple Leaf guidelines and governance.\r\n\tIdentify all issues critical to budget, timeline and performance and ensure proper coordination to address in a timely manner.\r\n\tMonitor and report on the execution of the assigned projects, taking action to coordinate activities and maintain budgets and timelines.\r\n\tAssure both food safety and health and safety are prioritized in all aspects of project work\r\n\tEnsure the application of all legislative requirements and the appropriate company policies in all areas of capital project execution and technical service.\r\n\tAssist operations with emerging issues related to operating plants, including the resolution of process and equipment operational issues and analysis of opportunities for operational enhancements\r\n\tReviewing plant capital for appropriateness of design, feasibility and compliance with MLF policy and coaching plant personnel on the development and execution of capital projects in compliance with project management best practices and Maple Leaf guidelines and governance. \r\n\tSupervision and coaching of junior direct reports, as assigned.\r\n\tOther projects as assigned.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\t8+ years extensive capital project management experience in a manufacturing environment.\r\n\tProfessional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.)\r\n\tExperience in process design for food manufacturing\r\n\tKnowledge of food industry GMPs, food safety development and health & safety requirements.\r\n\tProven experience and performance in managing major capital projects execution and successful management of consultants and contractors.\r\n\tKnowledge of construction site practices and regulatory requirements\r\n\tKnowledge of contract development and execution\r\n\tKnowledge if WSIB/WCB and insurance requirements and their management on construction sites\r\n\tExcellent interpersonal communications skills at all levels\r\n\tKnowledge of environmental compliance for food manufacturing operations\r\n\r\n\r\nKnowledge of health & safety performance for food manufacturing operations\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\n\tAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best.\r\n\tCompetitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
