Job Overview
Northwestern Veterinary Hospital is looking for a hard-working, energetic individual to join our team as a Veterinary Assistant!
The main job duties of an assistant are to maintain clinic cleanliness and sterility, while also providing basic patient care such as feeding and walking. Advanced assistant duties include assisting with proper patient handling and positioning for sample collection, catheter placement, diagnostic imaging, wound care, etc. Veterinary assistants may also be assigned to perform various reception duties such as assisting clients, making phone calls, bringing in patients, and billing.
The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic and a desire to learn. Any animal related education or experience would be considered an asset. To join our team, the applicant must also be friendly, personable, reliable, punctual, and possess excellent written and oral communication and computer skills. We are looking for someone who is flexible and available any day of the week, as shifts are 10 hours a day and on a rotational basis, including weekends.
