Schedule: Monday through Friday from apx 6:30 – 2:30 (Hours may vary depending on area assigned to for the day.) Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for covering Processing, Sanitation, Egg Room and Embrex positions whenever needed and may be assigned to help maintenance with various projects. This position will check in daily with management regarding the day’s tasks/duties.

- Wash and foam rooms to clean and sanitize the hatchery facility using a pressure washer.
- Wash chick boxes, farm buggies and setter buggies
- Cleans rooftop units .
- Reads setters.
- Processing/Grading/Vaccinating/Detoeing day old chicks.
- Re-tray eggs
- Work with Embrex to set up and prepare equipment, transfer eggs, check for rotten/broken eggs, and prepare hatchers for eggs
- Assist with Janitorial Duties including cleaning office areas and laundry.
- Unload delivery trucks and put up all stock items that come in.
- Euthanize birds as needed.
- Monitors temperature and humidity readings in hatcher room and reads temperatures of hatchers and incubators.
- Assist maintenance as needed including greasing buggies, changing filters, etc.
- Cleaning/sanitizing offal pad and chiller pad and clean offal/muffler room
- Must be able to obtain manlift/scissor lift certification.
- Must be able to read, write and perform basic math to complete daily checklists.

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements:
The job site is a bio secure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

- Must have good communication skills to accurately convey opinions and concerns.
- Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs. and must be able to push/pull 1000-1500 lbs. (on wheels). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bend over; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
- Tools and Equipment: Power Tools, Pressure Washer, Manlift/Scissor Lift
- Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dust, wet and cold environments.
- Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety goggles and/or glasses, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, earmuffs and/or ear plugs, and rubber boots are required when handling chemicals. – Ear plugs will be used as needed.
- Chemicals Commonly Used: Formaldehyde is in use at the facility. Also used are disinfectants and sanitizing solutions, and lubricants.
- Safety: Team Member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respitory Protection, Lock out Tag out, and Personal Protective equipment. Team Member is expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety related risks.
- Mask policy will be in accordance with any local, state, or federal requirements but will be provided to any Team Member wishing to wear a mask.
