Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Professional, Platform Engineering job designs, develops and maintains digital technology infrastructure to support information technology applications and services. With minimal supervision, this job collaborates with cross functional teams to define, design and implement new features to meet user needs and business goals, and upgrade existing platforms to improve performance and functionality through writing clean, efficient and scalable automation and troubleshooting and debugging complex issues. This job also participates in code reviews to maintain high code quality and share knowledge with platform engineering team members.

Key Accountabilities

Designs and develops high quality software solutions by writing clean, maintainable and efficient automation.
Leads the application of internal software deployment platform, continuous integration or continuous delivery pipeline and twelve factor development methodology to automate the deployment process, ensuring smooth and reliable releases.
Partners with cross functional team of product managers, designers and other engineers to gather complex requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
Writes and maintains complex unit tests and integration tests, and performs debugging to maintain the quality and performance of the software, applying test driven development as needed.
Recommends options for improving the software development and deployment processes, and implements the approved standards to improve efficiency and reliability.
Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for complex software applications, deployment processes and system configurations.
Provides technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues with deployed applications to ensure minimal downtime and fast resolution.

Qualifications

Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.
Experience with documentation, mentoring, and collaboration.
Experience with VMware, Linux, and Windows server.
Proficient in infrastructure systems and large scale automated deployments.
Ability to travel up to 20% for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Modern methodologies to manage infrastructure inventory experience.
Experience with SQL and proficient in database architectures.
5+ years experience with Linux Systems (e.g. ubuntu, Redhat).

The business will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position
Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law.
The expected salary for this position is $125,000-$155,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
