HSE Generalist is expected to collaborate with employees across the site as well as regional stakeholders. and handle basic activities in Bayer Production systems (SAP and electronic networks).\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe primary responsibilities of this role, Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Generalist, are to:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\tDisplay working knowledge of warehouse, plant and field operations. Promote an environment that continuously meets and improves established Bayer (HSE) Health, Safety and Environment manufacturing fundamentals;\r\n\tLead the site HSE Safety Program and drive employee engagement, through safety projects and new initiatives, and timely reporting of safety issues;\r\n\tPromote continuous improvement of site safety culture through visible leadership;\r\n\tDrive employee engagement by creating internal audit opportunities with visible corrective action tracking;\r\n\tDevelop operational (hands-on) knowledge and functional understanding of at least three key operational areas across the warehouse, plant and field; \r\n\tCoordinate onsite safety programs and provide mentorship to program owners;\r\n\tMentor less experienced Safety technicians and coach employees across the site on basic safety standards;\r\n\tSupport areas across the plant in driving the adoption of 5S practices to maintain an environment conducive to work, aligning with the labeling and ordering of tools;\r\n\tUtilize Focused Improvement (TapRoot) techniques to contribute to the improvement of processes and site safety program(s). Ensure alignment with key HSE stakeholders;\r\n\tHelp keep metrics and other relevant information current on visual boards to drive teamwork and facilitate work processes;\r\n\tParticipate in DDS (Daily Direction Setting) meetings and follow through on safety-related issues;\r\n\tShared ownership of all safety related activities at the site including contract safety (CMR);\r\n\tPromote an environment that continuously meets and improves established Bayer (HSE) Health, Safety and Environment manufacturing fundamentals;\r\n\tSupport Environmental and Compliance Reporting;\r\n\t\r\n\t\tSARA Reporting\r\n\t\tBaySIS Reporting\r\n\t\tState environmental reporting and permitting activities\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tEnsure all training courses for the site are updated and completed;\r\n\tEnsure proper usage of MOC guidelines;\r\n\tEnsure compliance with all hazardous work permits and site environmental permits;\r\n\tInitiate periodic communication with HSE Technicians and Corporate HSE Team to ensure alignment;\r\n\tImplement and guide adoption of regional level SSHE objectives;\r\n\tOwnership of Site Safety Management Reviews;\r\n\tPromote continuous improvement of site safety culture through visible leadership;\r\n\tEnsure completion and timely submission of annual VPP report;\r\n\tPost and file the annual OSHA log information;\r\n\tMinimal travel required to attend conferences, trainings, regional support or field activities;\r\n\tAll other duties as assigned;\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPosition entails driving a company vehicle (pooled or assigned to the individual). This may include being required to drive greater than 5,000 business miles annually in a personal, pooled, or rented vehicle OR being expected to frequently drive a pooled car as part of your job duties – regardless of mileage.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWHO YOU ARE\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nBayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nRequired Qualifications:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\tBachelor's degree in HSE, Industrial Hygiene, or related field with 4 years of experience in safety or manufacturing, agriculture or technical OR High School Diploma/GED with 7 years of HSE experience;\r\n\tValid Driver's License. In order to be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers – MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening;\r\n\tBasic knowledge of IT (Internet, Excel, PPT, Word, facilities with systems); \r\n\tAbility to workdays, nights, rotating shifts, weekends and overtime as business needs require;\r\n\tAbility to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. (a bag of seed);\r\n\tGood working knowledge of OSHA & EPA requirements and regulations and the ability to train others in this space; \r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nPreferred Qualifications:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\tExperience using SAP.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nDomestic relocation assistance may be offered for this role.\r\n\r\n#LI-AMSUS\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nEmployees can expect to be paid a salary between $88,868.00 - $133,302.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
