This role is accountable for planning and executing the department’s day to day operations, ensuring that all programs and initiatives align with budgeted goals, organizational objectives and vision of Homestead Co-op. The Agro Manager fosters strong customer relationships while maintaining strict adherence to all safety, environmental, and operational policies, procedures, and standards. This position requires some out-of-town travel. Travel may be required for seminars, conferences or competition checks.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWho you are:\r\n\r\nYou are looking for a career in Retail and:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tYou have a degree or diploma in agriculture.\r\n\tYou are able to work both independently and as a member of a highly motivated team.\r\n\tYou have excellent customer service skills, communication skills and the ability to problem solve.\r\n\tYou are highly motivated.\r\n\tYou possess strong interpersonal skills.\r\n\tMust have 3-5 years previous experience in progressive and successful retail management.\r\n\tMust have or willing to obtain the following certifications and designations: Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), CCA/P.Ag., pesticide applicator and dealer licenses, seed treatment license, WHMIS certification, and other required regulatory credentials. Must also be willing to operate, or obtain licensing for, a forklift, skid steer, and Class 3 vehicles.
