We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Veterinarian to join our dynamic veterinary team. Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Day Shift
- Monday - Friday (4 day work week)
- No nights
- 1 weekend each month
Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and diagnose health issues in a variety of animals, including companion animals and equines.
- Perform medical procedures such as vaccinations, surgeries, and laboratory tests with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Administer treatments, prescribe medications, and develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual animals' needs.
- Handle animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort for both animals and staff.
- Assist in emergency critical care situations by stabilizing patients and providing urgent interventions based on veterinary critical care protocols.
- Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary terminology and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, pet grooming, nutrition, and preventive health measures to promote responsible pet ownership.
- Support laboratory diagnostics by collecting samples, performing tests, and interpreting results related to animal physiology and anatomy.
- Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment by practicing proper animal handling techniques and maintaining aseptic conditions.
Skills
- Extensive veterinary experience with a focus on small animals; equine experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in animal restraint, handling, and husbandry techniques to ensure safety during examinations.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and clinical procedures.
- Experience with laboratory diagnostics, including sample collection and interpretation of results.
- Ability to perform animal catheterization accurately while maintaining aseptic technique standards.
- Excellent communication skills for effectively advising pet owners on pet care, nutrition, and treatment options.
