Veterinary Assistant-Radiation Oncology

Full-time-32 hours/week
PetCure Oncology, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, one of the most exciting and innovative veterinary oncology providers in the country, is seeking a unique, highly energized, compassionate Veterinary Assistant at our new Seattle location-located within Veterinary Specialty Center Seattle.
The veterinary assistant delivers exceptional care for pets and provides stellar experience for pet owners. The VA is responsible for all things patient care as it relates to patients receiving any type of radiation therapy, CT, or MRI, including, but not limited to: anesthesia monitoring, excellent client care and communication, administrative tasks, answering phones, and team involvement in growing the service.
Ideal Candidates:

2 plus years of veterinary assistant experience

Associate degree or higher education is preferred

Prior experience working in a specialty practice is preferred

Prior experience in monitoring anesthesia is required.
Skills & Knowledge:

Exceptional relationship skills and the ability to build trust amongst all audiences, especially our clients and partner hospital departments.

Ability to work within tight deadlines
- High level of understanding of technology, hardware and software and how to troubleshoot any issues.

Manage the anesthesia process
- Knowledge of anesthesia drugs and protocols and consult with the on-site veterinarian on an on-going basis.

Take patient vitals and evaluate doctor’s notes post exam.

Enter anesthesia notes into the medical records.
- Wound care and cleaning

Ensure the patient has any prescriptions needed before discharge.

Care for pets, feed, medicate while in your care.
