Job Description: Our client is seeking a dedicated Night Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established 24-hour hospital providing continuous patient care overnight. This part-time position is ideal for a clinician who is confident managing emergency and inpatient cases independently while working collaboratively with a skilled overnight support team.
The role offers a structured night rota designed to support recovery time between shifts, alongside a calm and well-supported working environment. Strong communication and clear clinical handovers are central to the role, ensuring continuity of care and smooth transitions with the daytime clinical team.
Qualifications Needed:
- RCVS registration with eligibility to practise as a Veterinary Surgeon in the UK
- Previous experience working in an out-of-hours or emergency setting preferred
- Confidence managing urgent cases, inpatient monitoring, and overnight decision-making
- Ability to communicate clearly through written and verbal clinical handovers
- Calm, organised approach to working autonomously during night shifts
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing emergency presentations and overnight inpatient care
- Monitoring hospitalised patients and adjusting treatment plans as required
- Completing thorough clinical records and structured handovers
- Working closely with overnight nursing support to deliver consistent care
