AG MECHANIC TIER I\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nReports To: Shop Foreman\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nGeneral Summary:\r\n\r\nGamay Inc. is a ginkgo biloba tree farm in which ginkgo trees are grown and leaves harvested.\r\n\r\nProduction processes include planting, pruning, subsoiling, fertilization, irrigation, wed control, plant protection, harvesting, and drying of leaves.\r\n\r\nThe dried leaves are exported to an extraction facility in Ireland that produces a ginkgo biloba extract.\r\n\r\nThis extract is used to aid in memory function and sold as a dietary / food supplement.\r\n\r\nAgricultural equipment is used in all production processes.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nPURPOSE AND MAJOR CHALLENGE OF THE JOB:\r\n\r\nWithin the framework of Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP) in force with Garnay, Inc., to maintain, diagnose, repair, fabricate, and operate farm equipment, operate drying equipment in order to meet production programs in regard to the objectives of safety, productivity, quality, and timeliness according to procedures for each process.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tTraining / knowledge in Mechatronics (synergistic integration of mechatronics and electronics).\r\n\tA valid S.C. driver’s license and driving record approved by company insurance agent.\r\n\tPhysically fit to ascend/descend high crop equipment and work outside while exposed to environmental elements.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tTroubleshoot and solve problems with farm equipment with integrated components.\r\n\tPerform maintenance on Ag equipment.\r\n\tFabricate special equipment to meet the needs of production.\r\n\tAssist other shop personnel with repairs, maintenance, or fabrication on equipment or in other production areas as assigned.\r\n\tBecome familiar with and obey all farm safety requirements and procedures; attend all required safety training sessions.\r\n\tOperate drying equipment.\r\n\tSupervise personnel if assigned.\r\n\tOperate farm equipment if assigned.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nPay and Benefits:\r\n\r\n\r\n\t$24 to $28, depending on experience.\r\n\tDiscretionary production bonus can range from $2,500 to $5,000 per year.\r\n\tHealth insurance premium is paid 100% by the company for the employee, family coverage is available but paid by the employee.\r\n\t401K retirement is up to 6% of the employee's salary and matched $1 for $1.\r\n\r\n
