Farm Assistant – Livestock & Grazing Operations
(Pathway to Farm Management)

About the Farm
We are a family-run, diversified livestock operation focused on responsible land stewardship, animal welfare, and innovative agriculture. Our farm integrates sheep, poultry, and swine production with modern grazing practices, including agrivoltaics (managed livestock grazing at solar energy sites). We continue to build a long-term operation and are looking for someone motivated to grow into a leadership role. We will offer seasonal positions starting May 2026, however this role is permanent fulltime. You can find out more about us at www.solarsheep.ca
Role Overview
The Farm Assistant plays a key role in balancing on-farm livestock and infrastructure responsibilities with seasonal off-farm grazing operations at utility-scale solar sites. Much of this role requires working independently and requires a self-motivated individual. This position also includes occasional relief coverage for seasonal site shepherds when needed. For the right candidate, this role is structured as a training pathway toward a farm management role, leading day-to-day operations and oversight of seasonal shepherds.

Growth & Leadership Development
- Learning planning and coordination of daily farm operations
- Supporting scheduling, livestock movement planning, and grazing plans
